Meet the Owners

Meet Doug & Jeannie Swain

Hi, we're Jeannie and Doug—owners of Boulder Creek Lodge and longtime lovers of Montana's wild beauty and small-town spirit.

Jeannie grew up just down the road in Harrison, Montana, where her roots run deep. Raised in her family’s business, Duffy’s Saloon, she learned the value of hard work and community early on. After graduating in a class of just eight from Harrison High School, she pursued her passion for healthcare at the University of Montana, earning a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She’s spent the last 25

years as a hospital pharmacist and now serves as an assistant professor with the University of Montana’s School of Pharmacy and the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana.

Doug hails from Geneseo, a small farming town in Illinois. A childhood road trip sparked a lifelong love for Montana that led him to Missoula in 1992, where he earned a Business degree from the University of Montana. His journey included working for Montana Rail Link, followed by a fulfilling career as a firefighter in both Great Falls and Missoula. For Doug, owning a business that helps others experience Montana’s magic was always a dream come true.

We met during our college years at the University of Montana and were married in 2000 at St. Timothy’s Chapel, just above Georgetown Lake—a place that's always held special meaning for us. It feels like everything has come full circle now that we’ve made our home here at Boulder Creek Lodge.

We’re the proud parents of two amazing boys, Sam and Ben, who share our passion for the outdoors (and for hockey!). As a family, you’ll often find us skiing at Discovery (and picking up dozens of their famous chocolate chip cookies), mountain biking local trails, hunting, hiking, camping, and soaking in everything this incredible region has to offer.

We’re thrilled to welcome you to Boulder Creek Lodge—our little slice of Montana paradise—and hope you’ll fall in love with it just like we did.
