Near Boulder Creek Lodge

Fishing

Located in the heart of Western Montana, Boulder Creek Lodge offers prime access to some of the best fishing in the state.

 

Whether you're a seasoned angler or just casting a line for fun, you'll find excellent fishing spots just minutes away.

Boulder Creek

Type: Small mountain stream

 

Fish Species: Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout

 

Notes: Perfect for fly fishing, beginners, and kids. Easy access right from the lodge.

​

Rock Creek

Distance: ~15 minutes

 

Type: Blue Ribbon Trout Stream

 

Fish Species: Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat Trout

 

Notes: Legendary fly fishing destination. Ideal for dry fly and wade fishing.

Flint Creek

Distance: ~10 minutes

 

Type: Small river

 

Fish Species: Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout

 

Notes: A quiet gem with less traffic than Rock Creek. Easy access points.

Georgetown Lake

Distance: ~20 minutes

 

Type: Alpine lake

 

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, Kokanee Salmon

 

Notes: Excellent for shoreline or boat fishing. Ice fishing hotspot in winter.

Clark Fork River

Distance: ~15 minutes

 

Type: Large river

 

Fish Species: Rainbow, Brown, Cutthroat Trout

 

Notes: Best accessed by drift boat. Great for full-day float trips with local guides.

East Fork Reservoir

Distance: ~25 minutes

 

Type: Quiet reservoir

 

Fish Species: Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout

 

Notes: Peaceful and scenic, great for a relaxed afternoon of fishing.
 

Biking

Whether you're shredding down Discovery Bike Park, spinning along scenic forest roads, or crossing Montana on a loaded touring bike, Boulder Creek Lodge is your perfect basecamp for two-wheeled adventure.

Distance: ~20 minutes

 

Type: Lift-served downhill mountain biking

 

Features: Machine-built trails, technical singletrack, skills area.

 

Notes: Weekend operation in summer. Great for riders of all levels. Rentals available on site.​

Local Singletrack Trails

Distance: 5–30 minutes

 

Examples: Echo Lake Loop, Racetrack Trail, Deer Lodge National Forest

 

Type: Cross-country and backcountry singletrack.

 

Terrain: Forested, rocky, with big views and flowy sections.

Gravel Riding & Mountain Road

Access: Right from the lodge

Routes: Boulder Creek Rd, Rock Creek Rd, Fred Burr

Lake Rd

 

Terrain: Smooth gravel, low-traffic mountain passes.

 

Notes: Ideal for gravel grinders or anyone looking for peaceful, scenic pedaling.
